Artist Bio
My name is Yental [YEN] + [TUHL]
Yental Marquez is a multimedia artist living and working in the Rio Grande Valley. She is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Studio Art at University of the Rio Grande Valley. She uses multiple mediums such as paints, textiles, photography, and found objects in her work and installations. The most common themes and motifs focus on various shades of pink and critique of the current political discourse in the US.
Marquez has been awarded the Engaged Scholar Awards for several years which has allowed her to

work with a mentor and do work for the community. With the help of an engage scholar Marquez has exhibited in the yearly symposiums for several years. She has also been awarded by the art and science foundation funded by the National Science Foundation to connect science and art.
The BFA exhibition allowed Marquez to produce a series of pink works exhibited in the Rustenburg gallery. Marquez has also exhibited for Planned Parenthood Exhibition, Hostile Terrain 94, TASA online exhibition and local exhibitions such as Art at the Zoo at Buho.
